▸ What is the NCAA regional format?
Regionals are broken down into three stages of competition over a single weekend:
- Round 1: A two-team opening dual meet.
- Round 2: Two sessions of four teams (two quad meets).
- Regional Final: Four teams compete for a spot at Nationals.
▸ How do teams advance from each round?
Advancement is based entirely on placement within a specific session, not by comparing scores across different sessions:
- Round 1: The winning team advances to Round 2.
- Round 2: The top two teams in each session advance to the Regional Final.
- Regional Final: The top two teams advance to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth.
▸ How do individuals advance to Nationals?
From each regional, the top all-arounder and the top event specialist on each event who are not on an advancing team will qualify for Nationals. Advancement is determined after the entire regional is complete.
